Traffic Hurricane Tips and Techniques

Introduction

This document describes many different approaches for using and benefiting from Traffic Hurricane. Understand that driving traffic from search engines to a web site takes many specific key actions. You will find that making search engine and human reader friendly pages goes hand in hand with using Traffic Hurricane.

Traffic Hurricane was developed to drive qualified traffic to your website. Traffic Hurricane is a tool that does not replace your main website but enhances and compliments it.

Traffic Hurricane allows you to create hundreds or thousands of web pages that are entirely focused and complimentary to your main website theme. Each Traffic Hurricane page has numerous pointers back to your main website. In this manner, Traffic Hurricane pages are set up to drive traffic to your site or an affiliate site of your choosing.

Traffic Hurricane is a software system that generates laser targeted, keyword focused content pages based on keyword research you will do in the program that relate to the topic of the website that you want to promote. The number of keywords for any one topic can rank in the hundreds or even thousands depending on the keyword. Traffic Hurricane does this quickly and automatically saving you the countless hours of work that would be required to create and upload the pages to the Internet.

Traffic Hurricane is a website potential maximizer. Traffic Hurricane is used to promote a website, a product on a website and/or used to market an affiliate site.

Traffic Hurricane is a perfect tool to use whenever you want to attract more visitors to your website. In short, here is how it works. Either you currently have a website or you want to promote an affiliate website. Use Traffic Hurricane to create keyword focused content pages that point to the website. In this way, instead of having 10 or 20 web pages, you may have hundreds or even thousands of pages all relevant to the theme of your main website with links pointing back to your main web site.

How do you get the most out of using Traffic Hurricane?  That is the question that we are going to answer.

Getting the MOST from Traffic Hurricane

Plan how you will set up your Traffic Hurricane pages.

We STRONGLY recommed that you host the traffic hurricane pages on one website and have the keyword pages promote your main website. It is very simple to do! When building your trafffic pages use the URL of the site you want to promote.

If you do not have your own web site but want to promote other web sites as an affiliate that's fine. Just insert your affiliate URL in your hurricane pages.

Get a compatible hosting account and set up Traffic Hurricane. You will need a place to host your Hurricane files.

*************

Let’s review why you would want to use Traffic Hurricane.  You are using Traffic Hurricane to get HIGHLY TARGETED TRAFFIC TO YOUR SITE!

The assumption is simple.  Get the people to your site who are the best potential buyers/consumers of your product.  If you have been working the internet at all, you know that web site visitors have the shortest attention span in the world.  It is far too easy to just click the "back" or "x" button and leave. If you are hoping to capture the attention of someone interested in buying a car in Los Angeles when your website offers solar car heaters for ice fishermen … good luck!  All you will have done is wasted someone’s time and received no benefit.  The key is to get VISITORS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER!

There are three principles that you need to follow in order to do this.

1)     You need to attract the right kind of visitors.  Creating 20,000 pages on “Travel” to promote a “Motel 12” in Nebraska won’t get you the type of web site visitors who will be interested in your site and the search engines wont like you either.

2)     You need to keep the INTEREST of your Web Site Visitors.  Remember, Hurricane pages are not the full blown web site.  They are the INVITATION to click through to the web site that you are promoting.  How do you do that?  Simply by offering CONTENT that is of value to the visitor. A minimum of several paragraphs of relevant content  is necessary for successful Hurricane or any web site pages for that matter.

3)     You need to keep the Search Engines HAPPY.  Traffic Hurricane has many built in features that are geared specifically to the needs of the Search Engine spiders.

Traffic Hurricane will provide you with many tools and information to optimize all three of the above points.

If followed it will be very profitable for you in many ways.

Below we have provided a sort of maxim. A truth, so to speak, to gain an understanding about Hurricane or any other web site pages:

IF YOUR PAGES GET LISTED BY THE SEARCH ENGINES THEN DROPPED OR DE-LISTED IT IS BECAUSE YOU HAVE VIOLATED POINTS 1 OR 2.

If this occurs, simply try again and be sure to follow this manual.

Again, this not only applies to Hurricane pages but any web pages. If you can understand why this is important, you will be able to create fantastic Hurricane pages that will draw visitors and get and remain listed.

The job of the Search Engine is to provide visitors with the best pages that meet their search criteria.

Here is a tip.  When you are creating your Hurricane Pages, assume the VIEWPOINT of your desired visitor.  What colors do they like?  Use that on your template.  What information do they need?  Write that information on your Hurricane pages and make it several paragraphs.  What you want to do is to ensure that the Hurricane page you create will be viewed and liked by your visitor and to have them take the time to click on a link that goes to the web site that you are promoting.  Judge your pages from the VIEWPOINT of your web site visitor.

Getting Started

There are a couple of simple things that you should know that will make operating Traffic Hurricane much easier.

Once you have logged into Traffic Hurricane, there are some conventions that are used throughout Traffic Hurricane.  Every page has a step number and heading.  For each instruction, there is an online tutorial available, click on the gray instruction heading to see the help window.  When you click the link, a new window will open that will contain additional instructions for your use.

On every Traffic Hurricane command you will be asked to perform some action.  For most of the commands you will be asked to enter some information in the associated data entry area.  At times you will be asked to click on a command.  Click the actual line indicated to take the needed action.

Figure 1  - Traffic Hurricane Page Navigation

To move from page to page, you can click on the button at the end of each Traffic Hurricane Step.

You may find at times that you need to return to a previous page to adjust a command on an earlier step.  To do so you can use your web browser’s “Forward” and back “Button”.

FIRST TIME CREATING HURRICANE PAGES?

If this is your first time using Traffic Hurricane it's smartest to just enter one keyword in the Keyword Box.  This will create only 1 Hurricane page.  Go through the entire process of creating Hurricane pages step by step.  Read all tutorials and listen to every audio help feature.  Get a feel for the system and how your pages will turn out. You don't want to do all this work and have to rebuild all those pages because you decided to do something different at the last minute. So, start with one keyword. It's very easy to create more Hurricane pages afterwards.  Traffic Hurricane saves all of the details of your last run so creating new pages is a snap!

Creating Hurricane Pages

There are only 8 steps needed to create Hurricane Pages.  Each of these steps are documented and explained in multiple places as stated above.

Here is a brief overview of all of the steps involved:

1 – Selecting your Hurricane Keywords

2 – Pages and Directories

3 – Hurricane Page Content

4 – Additional Hurricane Page Options

5 – Selecting a Template

6 – Page Customization

7 – Template Customization

8 – Viewing Created Pages

Step 1 – Selecting your Keywords

Step 1 is all about identifying the keywords that you are going to use to create Traffic Hurricane Pages.  Remember that Traffic Hurricane will create 1 page for every keyword that you identify.  It is critical that you remember this as we move forward.  What does this mean? Well, if you have 500 words that describe your website, then there will be 500 individual pages created that will have links back to the website that you are promoting.

Keywords and keyword management is one of the most important areas that you need to work, in order to have successful Hurricane pages.  We are going to spend a bit of time looking at:

1)     Creating a keyword list

2)     Reviewing, cleaning and organizing your keywords

3)     Formatting the keywords

4)     Using the keywords

It may sound like a lot, but you will see the importance of doing it right.  Remember the Hotel in Nebraska example above?

CREATING A KEYWORD LIST

Traffic Hurricane has a keyword list generation tool.  This tool is linked to Overture.  It is a very good place to create a list of keywords.  When you enter a word that relates to the main theme of the web site you are promoting, Traffic Hurricane will search for all related sub-keywords that have been searched for on the Internet in the last 30 days and insert them into the Keyword Box.  After the search is complete, you may repeat the process to find additional sub-keywords related to your site.

For added variety there are several free Internet resources that you can use to help create your keyword list.  To try these resources go to:

http://www.enteryourkeyword.com/index.php
Look for the data entry box in the upper left corner of the page with the "Generate Keywords" button next to it.

http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/keyword-research-tool.shtml.
This tool is very easy to use and produces very extensive results that need to be reviewed and cleaned-up as needed.

To save the keywords, select the created keyword output and then copy them into a text file on your computer.

Reviewing, Cleaning and Organizing your Keywords

There are several things that can be done to help make the created Hurricane pages more consumable to your visitors.  This starts early in the process.  When the keywords are returned from the keyword generation tool a number of things can be done that will make the resultant pages look better.  Keyword generation tools are also pretty simplistic.  You need to review the keywords so that they “fit” the web site you are promoting.

ONE DOMAIN - ONE TOPIC

You will have better rankings if you keep your site related to one topic.  If the site that you are promoting can support many keywords that can be grouped into several similar topics or types, you may want to promote each separate group using a separate domain name.  If it is not practical to create a new domain for each group of keywords create a separate sub-domain for each separate group of related keywords.

While it is not required, it is highly recommended that you register separate domain names for each different type of product you promote.

Look at it this way… if you did a search in a search engine for "DVD Rentals" and below were the top two results, which would you most likely click on?

DVD Rentals We have the largest selection of DVD's in your area.  If it's not in stock when you want it, it will....
http:// www.chevytruckparts.com/ dvd-rentals-by-mail.htm

DVD Rentals We have the largest selection of DVD's in your area.  If it's not in stock when you want it, it will....
http:// www.dvdwarehouse.biz/ dvd-rentals-by-mail.htm

Keep your domain name related to the product you are promoting for the best results.

ONE DOMAIN

Many people think that you need to create thousands and thousands of Hurricane pages to get some results. This is just not true at all. I have received many, many testimonials from people who created only a few hundred and could not believe the difference it made in the amount of additional traffic received by the website they were promoting. So, don't fall into this trap.

If you create too many Hurricane pages and spam the search engines, you can get yourself in some trouble.

You can always create more and it is explained how to better do this in step 2 by linking sub directories or folders.

Search engines look for patterns.  The Search Engine spiders are very, very good at finding them.  When a search engine finds that a single site has many, many thousands of keyword pages on a single topic, all using the same description or body text and all using the same template design it can identify those patterns and may drop the search engine listing for those pages.

In addition, it's just bad manners to create too many Hurricane pages all with the same content. The search engines will see too many pages with the same content as search engine spamming and they are correct, so just don't do it.

Our investigations show, using smaller keyword chunks and varying the site description, template style and using a different sub-domain or a new domain will decrease the possibility of having pages dropped from a search engine and gives the internet surfer a better quality experience.

Keywords – When Too Much of a Good Thing is Bad!
or The Whys and the how's of keyword grouping

Search engine optimization experts for a long time have been talking about the reduced importance of keywords in affecting the entry of a page in Search Engines.  Search Engine spiders have long since discounted the importance of keywords ever since the porn industry and unscrupulous webmasters abused the use of keywords in the 90's; the Search Engines have reduced their reliance on keywords.  Their algorithms now search through the text of your website and create relationships between the content, the keywords, the filename and other factors to come up with the listing.

There is a potential for the abuse of keywords while using Traffic Hurricane in a very similar way as described above.  This may also explain why some people have seen their traffic hurricane pages listed by the Search Engines and then dropped.  Here is the scenario.

If you enter the word "Satellite TV" as the main keyword for your web site the keyword search tool will return many useful keywords related to Satellite TV. It will also return keywords related to Satellite orbits and telemetry and Satellite Sebring cars and a bunch of other interesting, but unrelated keywords.  As the goal of Traffic Hurricane is to funnel highly targeted traffic to your site, we suggest that you remove these unrelated keywords.  If you do not take the time to remove these unrelated keywords from the keyword list, the Search Engines will be confused as to the relevancy of your site. If the Text on your page focuses on the home entertainment value of Satellite TV and the keywords on the page relate to a 1976 Satellite Sebring car, the search engines will be confused and will more easily drop your page from the listing.

It is the best practice to clean-up and to organize your keywords into related groups.  For each related group of keywords you may want to create a specific Hurricane Page description.  This text will be complimentary to this keyword group.  For example if you have a group of keywords associated with “Baking Supplies” your Hurricane text should be written to peak the interest of your web site visitors here.  If another group of keywords for your Hurricane page’s relate to “Cooking Vegetables” then the text that appears on your Hurricane Pages should compliment these keywords.  This may be a little more work but you can see how this would be more beneficial than having one generic web page text regarding “Healthy Cooking” for all keywords on your site.

Here is another VERY, VERY IMPORTANT point.  Keyword tools do return profanity.  It is your responsibility to remove all keyword and keyword phrases that contain profanity or are associated in such a way.

Know the Web Site that you are promoting!

The goal of Traffic Hurricane is to direct targeted traffic to your website.  Even though there may be thousands of keywords that relate to the general topic of the web site that you are promoting, the specific website my only support a couple of hundred keywords or even less.

For example, if you enter the keyword “Travel” in the search tool, it may return thousands of keywords that contain the word “travel.”  There will be keywords related to “Vacation Travel”, “Business Travel”, “Travel by Sea”, “Travel in Europe” … you get the picture.  If your website is related to “Travel in the Rocky Mountains” then many of the “Travel” related keywords do not fit the characteristics of the website.

If the web site you are promoting will not support thousands of keywords, then don’t force it to.  The visitors who reach your site will quickly loose interest and leave.  Target and focus only on the type of visitors that will purchase or use or be interested in your web site.  To attract this type of visitor you need to use the correct keywords that are of interest to this type of audience.

Formatting Your Keywords

One thing that affects the appearance of the created Hurricane pages is how the keywords are formatted.  We suggest that keywords are formatted with the first letter capitalized.  We do not recommend a keyword to be all caps or all lowercase.  This single fact will help make your pages more readable and give the internet surfer and better experience.

For example:
    - Keyword - This format is recommended.
    - KEYWORD - This format is not recommended.
    - keyword - This format is not recommended.

If you use an editor package such as Microsoft Word you can copy a large number of keywords into a document then selecting all of the keywords (using the Ctrl-A key sequence), click on the Format menu and Change Case option.  From the Change Case menu select "Title Case" and this will convert the first letter of each keyword to capital case.

MULTI-KEYWORD SEQUENCES

You may notice that the keyword search tools do not provide you with keyword combinations that always makes sense.  Keyword search tools return multiple keyword strings sorted in alphabetical order.

For example, the keyword search tool may return a multiple keyword like:

     destinations mountain rocky

while the actual string that makes sense to you and I is:

     rocky mountain destinations.

While you are reviewing your keyword list for profanity and unrelated keywords, make sure to take the extra time to organize the keywords in the correct order.

SAVE YOUR KEYWORDS

Every time that you create a new set of keywords, it is highly recommended that you save the list of keywords in a text (.txt) file on your computer.

This will be very helpful if you want to compare the results of one keyword search against another.  Remember that keyword usage is seasonal.  At different times of the year, internet users search for different topics.  This difference in search patterns will provide different keyword search results.  Repeat the same keyword search on a regular basis and compare the results of one search against the previous searches.  Create new Hurricane pages only for the new keywords that you have found.

In addition, you will want to re-create your Hurricane pages once every 2-3 months. This keeps the pages relatively fresh and will make them last longer with the search engines. If you have saved your keywords, you may not need to do as much keyword research the next time you create Hurricane pages.

Using your Keywords

If you are using a keyword list that you have saved on your computer during step 1.2 you can upload that list to Traffic Hurricane by clicking on the link:

A box will open which will allow you to browse your pc to select a .txt keyword list related to the website you are promoting.

The .txt file must have only 1 keyword per line.  A keyword may have multiple words as in "satellite tv" and qualifies as one keyword. The keywords should also follow the guidelines that were described in the Tutorial for step 1.1 "Create Keywords" and the earlier discussions.

If you have chosen to use the Traffic Hurricane keyword tool and you have completed all of the review and clean-up steps, go ahead and move to step 2.

RECREATING TRAFFIC HURRICANE PAGES

If you have a list of Traffic Hurricane keywords saved in a text file it is possible to import them directly into Traffic Hurricane.  This is in Step 1.2 of Traffic Hurricane page creation.  The keywords should be placed one keyword per line in the text file. A keyword may have multiple words as in "rocky mountain vacations" and qualifies as one keyword.

You can update the list of Keywords over a period of time, you can then use the import keyword tool to import the updated keyword list into Traffic Hurricane and regenerate the pages as needed.

This feature is particularly important as you will see when similar keywords are grouped together.

Step 2 – Pages and Directories

This step of creating Hurricane pages describes how the created Hurricane pages will be organized on your web site.

By default, Traffic Hurricane will attempt to create all pages in the same directory or folder in which it currently resides.

For example, if you have Traffic Hurricane located in the folder “TH” of your site, it will by default create all of the Hurricane pages within the “TH” folder.  We suggest that you create separate subfolders each time you create Traffic Hurricane Pages.  It is best to provide a descriptive name to the subdirectory so that you will be able to direct people to a link similar to “www.yoursite.com/th/apples/index.htm”

Another important sub-step here is to identify other groups of Traffic Hurricane created pages that you would like to link to.  This feature allows you to link to pages previously created by Traffic Hurricane that reside on the same domain name.  By linking to previously created groups of pages you can give the impression to the search engines that this is a bigger web site.  Only link to previously created web pages that have a similar theme or are promoting the same Web Site.

Step 3 – Hurricane Page Content

This is where the actual Traffic Hurricane page is defined.  The questions and actions that you take on this page will be some of the most important ones during the entire Traffic Hurricane page creation process next to keyword creation.

It is time to introduce an important concept.  This is the concept of a “placeholder.” A placeholder is exactly what it says, something that holds the place for something else.  In Traffic Hurricane there are a number of placeholders for your use.  These are described in the on-line tutorial at step 7.1.  Please note that most of the information provided at step 7.1 is only pertinent to users of the PRO version but there is one item that ALL Traffic Hurricane users should know.

The placeholder “$$keyword$$” is very important in Traffic Hurricane.  This placeholder represents the actual keyword that will be used while creating that page.

If you know that by using $$keyword$$ it will show up on the Hurricane page as the actual keyword that is being used to generate the Hurricane page. For example, if the main keyword you are using is “Disneyland” then;

$$keyword$$ is the BEST!

will become,

Disneyland is the BEST!

when the page is created.

Prepare your Site Description.

A Site Description is the description that is asked for in Step 3.3 of the Traffic Hurricane Page description.  Creating a great Site Description is one of the most important steps in ensuring that your pages will not only be listed but will have longer staying power with the search engines.

A little further on you will read that the best practice is to limit the number of pages using the same Site Description.  If you follow this practice, you will have several Site Descriptions.

Once you have organized your keywords into chunks or groups.  Count the number of chunks.  That is the number of Site Descriptions that you will need.

Each Site Description should be several paragraphs in length and should be related to the major topic for the keywords grouped in that chunk.  You can add the specific keyword text into the Site Description by entering the $$Keyword$$  as appropriate throughout the Site Description Text or simply write the keyword in.

You can get an idea for what I am saying if you recognize the fact that most keywords can be categorized as nouns or verbs.  Keywords that are nouns are keywords that describe a person, place or a thing.  If the keyword describes Vacation Destinations you can create one Site Description that will fit all of the Vacation Destination keywords.

Create a sentence similar to “Go to $$keyword$$ for a Fun Family Vacation!”  and then Traffic Hurricane can exchange the place holder from “Go to $$keyword$$ for a Fun Family Vacation!” to “Go to Disneyland for a Fun Family Vacation!” if that Hurricane page’s keyword is “Disneyland”.

You can do the same with verbs.  Create a phrase where you can substitute a verb for each keyword.  “The Best $$keyword$$ in USA!” is a phrase where you can substitute the words “Hiking”, “Shopping”, “Dancing”, “Dining”, “Canoeing”, … you get the picture!

Now one of the things that you should be aware of is that the Site Description on the Index and Sub-Index pages will not contain keywords.  Where the text would normally say “Go to Disneyland for a Fun Family Vacation!” on the index page you will see “Go to for a Fun Family Vacation!”  On the index page, modify the Site Description to include a phrase similar to “Places to Go For a Fun Family Vacation!”  A minor change, but it reads well.  Don’t forget to do a similar handling on the Headings, if you have included the $$keyword$$ placeholder there.

Should this be a reason not to place keywords in the text and headlines of a Hurricane page?  NO WAY!!!  By including the keywords as mentioned above, you will ensure that the pages you create are well received by both your human visitors and the search engine spiders.  These pages will need a little bit of tweaking, but using FrontPage or some other editor on 5 index pages and a couple of minutes of time should not stop you from building pages as described above.

A Note Regarding the Professional Version

The Pro version of Traffic Hurricane offers much more flexibility for the Experienced Marketer especially if they are proficient in using HTML.  The full features of the Pro version of Traffic Hurricane are not covered in the following section.

Step 3.3: Traffic Hurricane Site Description

Enter a brief description of the site you wish to promote. This description should be worded in such a way as to accept or emphasize the keyword that you are promoting.  Create a new or updated Site Description for each group of keywords that you identify.  You can identify where the single keyword for the current page will be displayed in the Site Description by inserting the text “$$keyword$$” without the “ ” where you want the keyword text to be displayed.

When inserting the keyword into the Site Description use the following rules.

1.      Insert the keyword within the first 60 characters of the first line of the description.

2.      Insert the keyword once or twice in every average sized paragraph.  Don’t overdo the density of keywords as Search Engines will penalize the page if the keyword is used too often.

3.      If your site description has many paragraphs in length then it is appropriate to put more keywords at the beginning of the description and fewer in the middle and then increase the density again towards the end of the description.

There are no hard and fast rules regarding the acceptable densities of keywords in the Site Description.  You may want to, on one group of keywords, decrease the number of keywords to only one keyword per paragraph and for another group you can experiment and increase the density to 3 or 4 keywords per paragraph.  Once you notice which keyword density is most listed in the search engines you can change the other groups to match.

TO INSERT MULTIPLE PARAGRAPHS

To insert more than one paragraph type in the following HTML where you want the paragraph break to occur.  <br><br>  This command will force a line break like you see between this paragraph and the next one.

5 PAGES OR 500? THAT IS THE QUESTION

One of the handy realizations I had while looking at the results of some of my Traffic Hurricane pages was that the Index Page and Sub Index page just did not look right.  It took a couple of minutes of looking to figure it all out, but I realized that the Keywords that were imbedded into the Index and Sub-index pages were not being displayed in the Site Description or the Title.  I began to wonder why this was until I realized that for the Index and Sub-index pages that contain keywords, there were NO keywords to display.  So,  do I abandon a perfectly good strategy because it does not work well on the Index pages?  Well, my answer is a resounding NO.  So, how did I fix this problem?  The pages generated using Traffic Hurricane are simple HTML pages so I manually edited the Index and Sub-index pages until they all looked good.  I did not attempt to update the Meta Tags or keyword lists, because I really don’t want these pages listed.  I want the Keyword focused content pages listed, but not the Index pages themselves.

By focusing on the tips and techniques described above, I was able to create 100s of keyword focused content pages that should be very acceptable to both human visitors and to the Search Engine spiders.  Who could ask for anything MORE???

Step 4 – Additional Hurricane Page Options

In step 4 the additional options that are available to be added to the basic Hurricane Page are identified.  All are optional and may or may not be used based on the site that you are promoting and the image that you want to create.

If you are a user of the Traffic Hurricane Free Edition, you will not be able to disable the display of the Google Ads and the Amazon link.  The Joint Venture Partner who has provided the Free Edition controls these features.  The Joint Venture Partner will also be placing one banner add on all pages.  This is one way the Joint Venture Partner benefits from giving away the Free User Edition of Traffic Hurricane.

With the RSS Feeds, it is highly recommended that you research for relevant RSS feeds using Google to add to your Hurricane Pages.  RSS feeds provide ever changing content that delights the Search Engine spiders.

Step 5 – Selecting a Template

This is a rather simple step.  There are 14 templates that are standard with Traffic Hurricane.  The professional Edition version 2 has many more. Templates 1 through 7 have been created to display vertical Google Ads.  Templates 8 through 14 have been created to display the horizontal Google Ads.

In Step 6 you will be provided with the option of customizing the page that you select here.  Look over the templates displayed to envision how that template will help communicate to your web site visitor.

Here is a very important pointer.  We do not know which template style performs best with the Search Engines and will appeal the best with your website visitors.  You are the best person to identify this.  The really good part about this is if it doesn’t appear to be working, try another template.

TEMPLATE SELECTION AND GOOGLE ADSENSE

Traffic Hurricane has 14 predefined templates. Templates 1 through 7 uses vertical Google ads while templates 8 through 14  use the Google ads that are aligned horizontally.

If you are using the Professional Version of Traffic Hurricane you will be able to manually set up your Google Adsense ads.  Go to Google and select the ad style that fits the template that you have selected. When you are doing this step, it is also possible to select the color of the ad.  Please take care to select a color choice that will complement and highlight and background colors of the template that you select.

Step 6 – Page Customization

This is where you will define additional details relating to the Hurricane pages that are soon to be created.

At this point you will be able to choose the Background and Accent color for the selected template.

If you know the search engine that is most used by your type of site visitor then you can include that search engine from one of the 14 possible search engines to add to your page.

Each Hurricane page that you create will contain up to 3 images.  Images are files that end in the “.jpg” or “.gif” ending.

The first image that you can add is the “Header Image.”  This is the image that will appear at the very top of the page.

The second image that can be added is the “Keyword Image.”  This is an image that you can add just below the Site Description.  This image should reflect the theme of your site.  If the theme of your site is “gardening” then you should have a picture of happy people gardening or enjoying the flowers from a garden.  This image is also linked back to the main site that you are promoting.  This is a very important image.  Use it well!

The last image is the “Footer Image.”  This is the image that appears at the bottom of the information that you provided.

If you are using the Free User Version, at the very bottom of the page will be one more banner add placed by the JV partner who provided you this software for free.

Step 7 – Template Customization

Although customization of the template is only available on the PRO Edition, this step is CRITICAL for ALL USERS.

Also, at the very bottom of this page, there is a button that says “Create Hurricane Pages NOW!”  This is when your pages actually get created.  If you have entered a few keywords, then it will take but a few moments to create your Hurricane pages.  If you have loaded many hundreds of keywords (not recommended), then you may find that the process will take a bit longer to complete.

Step 8 – Viewing Created Pages

Once all of the pages have been created, you can then click on the link that is called “Click Here To View Your Traffic Hurricane Index Page”.   This will display the Index page for your created Hurricane Pages.  The Index page may link to a Sub-Index page if you have created many, many pages.  The Sub-Index page will link to the actual Traffic Hurricane keyword pages. So, the keyword page is 3 links deep.

What Do You Do Afterwards?

Once you have completed the creation of your Hurricane pages there are several things that you can do.  All of these suggestions will help you increase the speed at which the Search Engines will recognize your newly created pages.

TAKING CARE OF THE INDEX PAGE

If you used any of the keyword options described in Step 3, carefully review your Index page.  Use the HTML editor of your choice to update any minor changes that are needed to the Index or Sub-Index pages.

LINKING THE NEW TRAFFIC HURRICANE PAGES

Very important note:

We do not recommend that you create a link from a web site that is already listed with the search engines to a Hurricane keyword page if it is using the same domain name.  As with any tool of this nature, there is always the possibility of your Hurricane pages being dropped.  If your main website and Hurricane pages use the same domain name it is possible that both your Hurricane Pages and your main website will be dropped.

Therefore to eliminate this risk, you should always host your Hurricane pages on their own hosting account with it's own domain name and point the traffic to the website that you want to promote. In step 3 of the Traffic Hurricane program you choose exactly where you want the targeted traffic to go.

You can always use a service like www.Ineedhits.com or www.Submitexpress.com or many of the dozens and dozens of site submission services available to get one of your Hurricane KEYWORD pages listed in the search engines. With this step, only submit ONE or TWO KEYWORD pages to the search engines once every 30days or less or the search engines will take much longer to finally list your pages. Trust us on this. Do not submit your Index page as these types of pages do not usually get accepted.

Unfortunately, I have seen the above take 2 weeks to 6 months to finally get any pages listed. The search engines are very, very busy these days.

Another technique is to have a link from a blog attached to a Hurricane Keyword page. This can get them listed very fast also.

Another is to use a free automatic linking service like indexguy.com. All you have to do is add some php code to one or more of your Hurricane keyword pages.  It is extremely easy to install, and it lists your sites in search engines very quickly. If you are using the Professional Edition, you can add this code to the "extra html" section of your Hurricane page creation process also.

BUILD MORE CONTENT

This is a tip from Ken Evoy’s "Make Your Site Sell" book and now that you have your Hurricane pages created, review your own site one more time.  Is there anything that you can add to your site to increase the value of your content?  What new content can you add?  What can you do to increase the conversion rate of all the new visitors to your web site?  Don’t forget Traffic Hurricane’s purpose is to get more targeted visitors to your website.  YOUR goal is to convert more of that traffic into SALES!

KEEP STATISTICS

Regardless of what we say or what this guide says, the key to your success lays with you.  Here are some very important tips that you can use.

1)     Print out one page of every Traffic Hurricane group of pages that you create.  Keep track of the number of RSS Feeds and additional site links that you have added to each page.

2)     Measure your success on getting into the search engines.  If you use the logs from your hosting account, find out when your web pages are spidered and keep track of how many pages in each group are listed with the search engines.

3)     Measure your conversion rate.  How many people are going to your main site, how much money are you making from each batch of pages.

4)     When you get going, keep track of changes.  You may find that 5 RSS feeds are better than 8.  Or that a site description of 5 paragraphs works best for fashion sites but worse for electronics sites.

Don’t forget that you may find your secret formula. Only by keeping track of what has worked and what does not and what has changed is the key.  There are many experts in the world, but it’s only by keeping track of your own successes and failures that you can determine what works and what doesn’t.  The other thing to understand is that if it doesn’t work, you can change it.  Keep track of the results and change it some more.  That’s the beauty of the web!  Whatever you do don’t give up.

FIND A NEW SITE TO PROMOTE WITH TRAFFIC HURRICANE

OK, start the whole cycle over again.  Find a good affiliate program.  Build a new site.  Find a new niche to explore.  Create a new angle on a site that you are already supporting.  Create Traffic Hurricane pages that promote a competing website to the current affiliate program that you are supporting.  Find different and new ways to use the power of the Hurricane!  The more you use it the more you will benefit.

Conclusion

Traffic Hurricane is a tool that is made to be used.  You will not get ANY benefit if you don’t use it.  You also won’t get the benefits that you deserve if you don’t use it WELL. Use it wrong by creating thousands of Hurricane pages with unrelated keywords and you will bury yourself with the search engines. For under $8 each you can get as many domain names as you need.  If you are promoting an affiliate program that pays you $16, you will only need one sale every two years to pay for it.

Do not go cheap in this area.

For domains starting under $8, you can go to GlobalNet WebHosting  .

For hosting companies there are several you can check out including ixWebhosting at only $3.99.
Many others are free or start at: $6.99 per month up to $25 per month. Conduct a search on Google to see which one you like. We've tested Traffic Hurricane on GlobalNet Webhosting and ixWebHosting and personally use them ourselves.

When choosing a hosting account there are usually several different options in the amount of disk space being offered. Disk space is measured in megabytes or MG for short. You will find 50MB, 500MB, 1000MB and more. To help determine which will be best for you, you can guess that every 50 Hurricane pages you create will use up approximately 1 megabyte.  So if you have 50MG of space then you can guess that you will be able to fit about 2500 Hurricane pages. This is an approximate figure and can vary greatly depending on the number of images you have on your Hurricane pages and other factors.

And frankly, 2500 Hurricane pages used to promote 1 web site is a lot.
